UK differences
Windows in the UK open out and have built in sills. Spanish windows on the other hand either open in or slide, Nayas and enclosures can be approached differently (see below). The main reason for opening in is the majority of windows have Persianas (roller shutters) and mosquito nets of which both fit to the outside of the window. Sliders are useful in design for situations where opening inward vents are a problem i.e. kitchen sinks where the taps get in the way, or patio doors where normal openers could interfere with furniture or structures. Another important note is that the windows are fitted to the outside of the reveal in the UK whereas in Spain they tend to be fitted to the inside of the reveal for the same reasons above, although you loose the normal internal UK window sill, you gain the typical Spanish character of having external window sills.
As regards to sliders Euroglaze has a choice to suit all needs, a lot of customers in the past have requested minimum framework, but the traditional systems tend not to exceed normaly more than 1 meter wide or so as they tend to be weak in profile design, so therefore it can be a lot of vertical lines. We have addressed this at Euroglaze by using heavy duty sliders in most cases 1 vertical line in the middle.
Nayas and enclosures
Also available for those who want maximum opening we have a sliding folding system that opens up completely in the summer and can be closed off in the winter with the end door independent.

Securing your home is a big concern for all of us. Discouraging would-be burglars by installing high security windows is an effective deterrent. Thieves rely heavily on a quick entry and exit, and if your home looks difficult to get into, the chances are that the thief will move on.
Other devices such as persianas (roller shutters) are effective, although not security products, they help to delay. Consider also, security grills (rejas) and alarm systems which all serve to slow the thief down.
Any one device on its own is easily penetrable but combinations of the above are highly recommended. Each individual case has its own set of requirements and yours can be discussed in more detail with one of our salespersons.
